St. John's Prep teams take 1st , 2nd at Knowledge Bowl competition

Saint John's Prep placed first and second at the Prairie Conference Academic Challenge Feb. 23, leading the meet from start to finish. They competed against the top two teams from each of the other five schools in the Prairie Conference (Osakis, Eagle Valley, Upsala, Swanville and Royalton). Next they will move on to Sub-regional and Regional play, attempting to secure spots for the state tournament in April. The teams are coached by Charles Miller, Physics teacher at Saint John's Prep.

March 1-Parking violation on Huskie Drive. A vehicle without a license or temporary permit was parked on the street. A citation was issued.

Upsala variety show sends band off on a wave of homespun fun

The surf was up for the Upsala Community Variety Show IV that played out in two sold-out performances on Sunday, Feb. 28. The biennial event raised over $5,000 in supporting the Upsala High School band trip planned for Disney World in April.


Dairy Research and Promotion Council elects board members

Eleven new members have been elected to the Minnesota Dairy Research and Promotion Council board. Board members represent dairy farmers in their district and make decisions regarding the expenditure of dairy check-off funds. They also oversee the promotion council's activities and serve as advocates for Minnesota's dairy industry
