It's time to fill out the census form

By this coming Monday, March 15, almost every household in America will be receiving a 2010 census form either in the mail or delivered to its door.

Todd County Sheriff's Department

Saturday, March 6-6:59 a.m. Todd County Sheriff's Office was alerted by a passing motorist that a snowmobile was in Hayden Creek along the north side of Highway 10 one mile east of Staples. A snowmobile was found in the water with the back submerged. Staples Fire and Rescue and Police, who assisted at the scene, could not locate the driver. The snowmobile was removed from the water. The owner, and driver have since been located. The driver said he had hit open water in the dark. The amount of damage done to the snowmobile was not known.

Write-in candidate wins in Melrose Township

Write-in candidate Heidi Anderson received 45 votes and defeated incumbent Clerk Vernon Frericks from the clerk's position of Melrose Township.
