Ink On My Hands - Kevin Zierden
Life, liberty and the pursuit of taxes It's frustrating to see that we work all year believing we are paying our fair share of taxes only to see that we owe more once we finish our tax returns. But it is like what one of the writings we saw on a church bulletin board this winter, "Don't complain about the food or having to eat leftovers, some people don't have any food to eat." Then too, don't fly your plane into an IRS building thinking that will show them. That doesn't do any good either.

Notes From The Capitol - Paul Anderson
Monday's vote to override the Governor's veto of the temporary restoration of General Assistance Medical Care (GAMC) bill was a difficult one. Some would claim my vote to uphold the governor's veto was simply a political one. It's really much more than that. There were two ways to deal with the GAMC problem, either allow those currently on the program to be auto-enrolled in MinnesotaCare or pass a bill to temporarily restore the program. Neither method was perfect because sustainable funding is shaky during another state budget deficit.
