Martha Bedard was born to John and Julia Schrom in Albany, MN on June 24, 1919. She attended grade and high school in Albany and graduated from St. Cloud Teacher's College in 1940. She taught in northern Minnesota and then joined the Woman's Army Corps in 1944. Returning to MN after discharge in 1946, she taught in various MN towns until she settled in Hibbing, Mn where she taught until 1963. She met and married her husband Alexander Bedard in 1960. After his death in 1992, she moved to Waite Park, MN. She died peacefully on Feb. 7, 2016, preceded in death by her husband, her parents, brothers Edward, John, Raymond, Christopher, Francis and James, sisters Florence Cole, Pauline Lembeck, Evelyn Gilmore, Clara Gruber and Marie Herzog.
