Lewie was born on Aug. 28, 1928 to George and Flo (Hanauer) Fisher. He married Elizabeth Luger on Sept. 27, 1958.

Lewie owned and operated Fisher’s Service in St. Cloud, retiring in 1979. He also had an eye for land and developed many parcels throughout his lifetime.

Lewie loved life. Especially his family, and his loyal canine companions, football at St. John’s University and the many friends with whom he conversed, smiled and laughed.

He found great pleasure in joining friends for drinks and dinner at Fisher’s Club and delighted in daily cribbage contests where he might win a few bucks and talk politics. He thoroughly enjoyed gardening, cooking, picking grapes for wine-making and fishing with his buddies in Florida.

Lewie was a people person who thrived on listening to, as well as telling, a good story. In later years he drove his scooter or golf cart to wherever the action was, with his dog Buddy fast by his side. Buddy and Lewie were a team – they entertained, made new friends, captivated hearts.

Lewie is survived by his wife Liz of 56 years, children Kelly (Jim) Moss, Globe, AZ, Dick (Peggy) of Avon, Mark of Clearwater, FL, and daughter-in-law DeeDee Fisher of Avon; 7 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; his beloved dog, Buddy; sister Ruth (Gus) Hipp, St. Paul and brother Dick, Morrison, CO, who died March 15, 2014.

Preceding him in death were his parents and brother Junior.
